Objectives
(1) To understand perception, attitude, and acceptance of community, leaders of different sectors, social organizations, and religious groups in some provinces and big cities towards the donation of body tissues, organs, and corneas in particular
(2) To make recommendations for improving the effectiveness of social communication and education on the donation of body tissues, organs and corneas

Results
- About 81% of respondents perceived donation of body tissues, organs, and corneas as noble and humane. only 4.7% of respondents knew how to file a donation registration.
- 46.2% of respondents were willing to donate their body tissues, organs, and corneas after their death.
- Leaders of different sectors, social, and religious organizations had similar perception, attitude, and acceptance as the other participant groups.
- People’s main sources of information to learn about this issue were TV, books, newspapers, magazines, radio, and internet.
Recommendations
The law on donation and transplantation of body tissues and organs should be soon issued to create a legal foundation for developing technology and performing transplantation of body tissues and organs to needy patients. The government should mobilize resources for a concentrated investment in specialty centers and bank of cornea. IEC activities should be planed to publicize the law on donation and transplantation of human organs and tissue soon after the law issuance.
