Deployment of research projects on violence at the workplace for public health employees
For about two decades until now, violence at the workplace was concerned by the international community, including violence in the health sector. Many large-scale researches has shown that health care staff is one of the groups facing highest risk of violence at workplace in comparison with other sectors. In Viet Nam, there has no specific researches about this issue, however, many people’ve claimed that recently violence at work place to health care staff is increased significantly in both quantity and seriousness. The number of cases were published in mass media are just the floating ice of the iceberg.
In order to provide evidences for the Ministry of Health and functional agencies, The Health Strategy and Policy Institute has co-operate with Department of Personnel and Organization and Vietnam National Union of Health Workers to implement and research topic : “Analysis the violence at workplace to health care staff in clinics and public healing”. The objectives of this study is to review the reality violence at workplace in clinics and its influences to health facilities, determine the root causes, the related factors and difficulty, advantages in responding with this issue of health facilities and governments at all levels.
By 6/4/2015, The research was implemented at Dak Lak, this is the first place in 6 provinces/ cities under central represent for areas which will be researched. The selected health facilities in Dak Lak were: Provincial General Hospital, Provincial psychiatric hospitals, General Hospital of Buon Me Thuot và General Hospital of Cư Kuin.
From now on, the research will be continue implementing at Dien bien, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and other public health facilities under central.
