September 7, 2012, Health Strategy and Policy Institute (HSPI) held a conference with Rockefeller Foundation’s experts, regarding the research activities funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Participants included Director of HSPI - Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong, representative Heads of HSPI’s departments, and experts from Rockefeller Foundation, which were Mrs. Jeanette Vega - the Executive Director of Health sector - Rockefeller Foundation, USA; Mr. Mushtaque Chowdhury - the Deputy Director of Rockefeller in the Asia - Pacific region, Senior Adviser of Health sector - Rockefeller Foundation; Mr. Stefan Nachuk - Expert of Rockefeller Foundation, and Ms. Natalie Phaholyothin - Assistant Director of Rockefeller Foundationin the Asia - Pacific Region.
As being a research organization under the Ministry of Health, with the main function is to provide scientific evidences for developing health policy and strategy as well as to provide training for capacity building in the area of health policy development and health system strengthening, from 23rd to 24th August 2012, the Health Strategy and Policy Institute (HSPI) organized a training course: "Introduce the current situation of Vietnam's health system and the methods for monitoring, evaluating performance of provincial health system"
