Conference with Rockefeller Foundation’s experts
September 7, 2012, Health Strategy and Policy Institute (HSPI) held a conference with Rockefeller Foundation’s experts, regarding the research activities funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Participants included Director of HSPI - Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong, representative Heads of HSPI’s departments, and experts from Rockefeller Foundation, which were Mrs. Jeanette Vega - the Executive Director of Health sector - Rockefeller Foundation, USA; Mr. Mushtaque Chowdhury - the Deputy Director of Rockefeller in the Asia - Pacific region, Senior Adviser of Health sector - Rockefeller Foundation; Mr. Stefan Nachuk - Expert of Rockefeller Foundation, and Ms. Natalie Phaholyothin - Assistant Director of Rockefeller Foundationin the Asia - Pacific Region.
In the conference, Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong introduced research activities of HSPI in health policy development. With strong supports from Ministry of Health, as well as from other organizations in Health sector, HSPI has gradually asserted their research capacity in various areas such as: Public health, Health economics, Medical sociology, and Population. Dr. Tran Mai Oanh, the Deputy Director of HSPI reported the results of research activities funded by Rockefeller Foundation, which were interventional studies for Primary health care and Private health services conducted in two provinces: Binh Dinh and Hai Duong. The experts of Rockefeller Foundation appreciated responsible attitude and reliable results from HSPI and researchers in investigation and intervention process .
